what can i do to improve on fps games?

i recently got a new laptop, that i would like to run FPS Games on.
the games themselves work just fine, the problem is i’m having trouble with the touch-pad (aiming and firing). i tried using a regular mouse but i can’t use it on the bus and other less convenient places.
what can i do to improve the touch-pad or what can replace it?

FPS on a bus? Don’t even bother, a touchpad is notoriously difficult to use anyway. Try a different genre of game.
